Alfred Salter Primary School

Admissions

Applying for a place at Alfred Salter Primary School

Reception:

Children start in Reception during the academic year (September - August) in which they will turn five. All children are able to start in the September.

Parents can opt for their child to attend part-time until they are 5 and also have the right to defer entry to the term after their child becomes 5 (unless the child becomes 5 in the summer term - they cannot defer until the following September)

You need to apply for a place in Reception no later than mid-January each year. When you've completed your online application, you must submit it by the closing date of 15 January 2024 by 11.59pm.

Southwark residents can apply to any primary school in Southwark, or other boroughs, on the Southwark form. Residents of other boroughs must apply to their own borough (but can apply for Southwark schools on their own borough's form).

Applications for admission to primary school in Reception can be made by visiting the eadmissions website. The form will ask you to name six schools and to rank them in order of preference. The CAF (Common Application Form) can be completed online. If you do not have access to the internet, you can use any Southwark library where internet access is available.
